Hello all,
I received some great input on my initial planning of a Grays Harbor trip.
My wife, 7 year old daughter, dog and myself are leaving mid day on Friday
4/22 for Grays Harbor and coming back Sunday evening. We are staying in a
dog friendly hotel for 2 nights on Ocean Shores.
Both my wife and I are avid bird photographers so that will be very
important to us. We will also have binocs and 1 scope for observing,
The High Tides are as follows:
Friday, April 22 6pm
Saturday, April 23 6:50pm
Sunday, April 24 6:15am
My initial plan for daily birding would be
Friday 4/22 1pm Leave Seattle
Friday 4/22 3pm Brady Loop in Elma
Friday 4/22 5pm Grays W Refuge Hoquiam Ponds
Saturday 4/23 Morning Ocean Shores Jetty and Game Range
Saturday 4/23 4-7pm Bottle Beach
Sunday 4/24 Morning Ocean Shores Stops - several mentioned on
the Grays Harbor Audubon site
Sunday 4/24 Mid Day Grays W Refuge Hoquiam Ponds
Sunday 4/24 Afternoon Maybe Brady Loop or something else
on the way to Seattle
I hear Bottle Beach is good so I have included that. It sounds like Westport
is not expected to have many unique birds from the other areas so the extra
driving doesn't seem worth.
Can you see anything I'm missing here or certain places we should be at
different times? Are there any other stops on the way back to Seattle that
would be interesting?
All input and feedback would be greatly appreciate.
Best Regards,
Doug
