Hi Tweets,

Stan and I were joined by 8 others this morning (Monday) for our monthly walk at Lake Sammamish State Park. At 8 am it was a cool and cloudy "spring" morning, with very light winds and temps in the low 40s. The birds were singing, displaying and foraging the first couple of hours in decent birding weather. Then, around 11 am, the sky darkened, opened up and just drenched us, with some light hail to boot. Brrrrrr. The highlight for me was seeing 3 GREEN HERONS flying about in the larger trees between the two beaches and making their "SKEOW" call....I presume 2 males chasing/courting a female. It was also nice to see the AMERICAN PIPITS back for a brief while. All in all, it was another great half day of birding at LSSP, followed by lunch at nearby Rock 'n Roll Burger in Issaquah.
