Hello, I've been out and about in Grays Harbor each weekday since late March and will be til January. The best bird so far was seen today, on the south end of the Game Range; a male MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD flycatching from the large pieces of driftwood. A GLAUCOUS GULL was at Brady Loop and Wenzel Slough for a few days a week or two ago, as were 75 BONAPARTE"S GULLS (nice to see them there). Otherwise, I'm just watching the shorebirds accumulate on Grays Harbor; as many as 10,000 of late. There were 450 MARBLED GODWITS today (and lately) strewn in a loose line along the shore near Bill's spit. A SHORT-EARED OWL was present for at least several days last week at the airport at Ocean Shores. WHITE-FRONTED GEESE are seemingly everywhere and 2 SNOW GEESE were at Brady Loop today. Multiple MERLINS and/or PEREGRINES have been daily. Other odds and ends too, but that's all for now.
Thanks,
Keith Brady
