Tweets, Monday, April 18, I encountered a FOS HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER and
BLACK-TH GRAY WARBLER just outside Tenino. The flycatcher was calling and
foraging in the same spot I've seen one or more in passage the last two
springs (and very near where one showed up as early as March if memory
serves). It may have been there Saturday but I mistook the call for an
unusual Song Sparrow location-call. The warbler responded with a few songs
to my pygmy-owl imitation as he happened by on his way to somewhere
(north?). It seems a tad early for here but haven't checked with my or Bob
Sundstrom's records. Good birding!
