Today's walk brought a few special presents?I thought I'd share
?
?- my first of year Townsend's solitaire and first Savannah sparrow seen ( I heard one a week ago but missed the visual)
?
-the lilting lyrics or Ruby crowned kinglets in full voice
?
- a young eagle patiently ripping his way through breakfast ignoring nosy, noisy crow incursions
?
-enough swallows(Tree and Violet green) to make looking up regularly interesting
?
a number of Bandtailed pigeons headed north in twos and threes. Couldn't see whether they took turns to east and west when they hit the Strait or headed on to Bc
?
-a "tame" mourning dove that came and sat on the shoe, then lap of a visitor on my porch, then followed me around off and on for two days, even perching on my hand as I tried to direct it to the feeder area.
?
- morels- enough to go with my scrambled eggs and to share with a neighbor. Spring is coming slowly but surely. Good news , too, is that the Brownheaded cowbirds are late, too!
