?I don't know who you are as you did not feel the urge to sign your name to your post.? A few things of note from my years of birding, I agree, I have encountered "birders"? and "photographers" who are very experienced and by their vast knowledge and have become a bit to impressed with themselves.? I made a choice to?go beyond them?and focus instead on why I go out and bird in the first place. I LOVE TO SEE? BIRDS!, not just the special birds which make a visit to our area, quite by accident. Please remember what it is that got you going and looking at the natural world around you. There have been a few times, I went chasing after a rare bird only to find hoards of people disregarding basic courtesies. So go where they are not.. Take pleasure in an American Robin singing it's heart out in the Spring, a Black-capped Chickadee?nibbling spider eggs in the late summer, a Mallard in all his breeding plumage. So much to enjoy and remember, there are people who like you just want to enjoy all the pleasure of birding too.

?Life is just too short to sweat the small stuff.

BTY ,.... For those who I have encountered that are pompous out in the field?and post to Tweeters, I don't even bother to waste my time reading their posts.

I hope this helps,

Happily Birding

Ms. Wieland , ?I am truly sorry I called you out in error. ?In fact, I was reading Mr. Brown's post where he categorized my actions as overblown and in response to a sole incident.

Thank you Ms. Wieland . ?I wish there were more people like you out there. ?Not only did you read my post on your blog , you were very kind and thoughtful to post it on this email thread.

Again, I am very sorry I mis-identified you as being critical and I thank you for being so thoughtful. ?I am very new to this mailing list and it seems as though I won't be on here long enough to fully figure all of this out.

I hope that one day I will run in to a birder such as yourself.

Thank you again. ?None of my intent with any of this was to be directed at you or anyone similar. ?I am only addressing people which could use some self reflection as they are giving birders a bad name.
