The "big lens photographers" is such a stupid comment and nears bigotry....so photographers with small lenses are more conscientious? They have to get even closer to birds...
The lens has nothing to do with ethics, its the person holding the lens that chooses their actions. I don't take pictures, but I love photographers because without them, we wouldn't see photos or learn as much as we can about birds, and many of the filed guides and articles we read wouldn't be possible. Not all "big lens photographers" are bad people, and not all birders are good people. This topic is silly.
