Why, no sooner do I post a message about Purple Martins and. I see some.
I was out on Eld Inlet in a kayak and saw two Martins at Hunter's Point, a
location that has several nest boxes on tall saplings planted in the
intertidal. I saw one Martin at Fry Cove, where I paddled up to a bunch of
nest boxes mounted to a multiple piling cluster, and flushed a Martin from
one of the boxes.
Also, couple of Caspian Terns loafing on Cooper's Point and quite a few
Common Loons on the inlet. Rhinoceros Auklets were in two places too.
Bufflehead still pretty numerous but very few goldeneyes.
