Dear Mr Misanthrope,
In reality I suspect you really don't like people, not just rude birders, and your level of anger flung about so freely suggests
that counseling may be in order. This is not a joke, rather a serious professional suggestion. And whilst you are covering yourself in
the cloak of self-professed dignity, I would also suggest that you use caution before comparing anything to the Nazis. As
the son of two survivors of the Holocaust, I find your comments far more offensive than all of the bad behavior I've witnessed
from birders and photographers combined. Indeed, your comments about people lacking "the natural human instinct to
internally police their behavior in public" should be a starting point for self-introspection. Additionally, I would like to point out
the common misapprehension that the "right to free speech" means that one can say anything anywhere. As this listserv is run by
individuals, and is private, one's right to free speech ends whenever the moderator says it does. Please see comment about
policing own behavior in public. Some might call that following the rules. And finally, Carol Riddell is one of the sweetest nicest people I know.
I wish you luck in finding peace in your life.
