This Easter morning, we had 5 Varied Thrush visit our lawn. That's the most we've had all year! I thought they had left the area, not having seen any in a week or more, so it was quite a treat to see them. Also had our FOY American Goldfinch at the feeder, joining our regulars: Red-breasted Nuthatch; Towhees; Juncos; Pine Siskin.

Yesterday, Dave and I enjoyed the glorious sunshine by walking part of the Larry Scott Trail. Among our sightings were 4 Black-bellied Plovers, Sanderlings, Song Sparrows, and White-crowns. Also saw a pair of Bald Eagles in a tree, only to see them a short time later doing their acrobatics in the air. Just offshore, we spotted a Common Loon and Common Merganser. There were a number of small flocks of shorebirds feeding on the beach, but I was unable to ID.
