A quick update on the Western Bluebird Reintroduction Project. This is the fifth year of the program and the great news is that we are seeing birds that were born on San Juan Island returning to breed and have young of their own. Right now there are eight breeding territories all on San Juan. There are already 10 chicks but the weather here is pretty wet and windy and tough on chicks. There are a total of 25 (young and adults) birds here now.

On Audubon trip Saturday at Lopez Townsend Solitaries were finally spotted as they are passing through the islands on their way to high county on Vancouver Island. The San Juan Island trip highlight was a female Anna's working on a nest and finally great weather!
