Hi all...Last time I will post before the festival begins. We have 7 seats
left on the Tokeland/Grayland/Westport field trip on Friday, the
29th...that's leaving plenty of room for comfort, equipment, and box
lunches.
Our Point Grenville field trip has sold out.
We have seats for both Friday and Saturday Ocean Shores field trips...and I
can personally vouch for large numbers of shorebirds out on the beaches, the
game range, and on the harbor side...Bill's Spit was completely covered with
birds today, and the female (now resident) King Eider was seen on the 22nd
out on Damon Point.
Our Westport field trips on Saturday and Sunday both have seats available
and include stops at Bottle Beach SP in plenty of time to watch the birds
pushed closer to the viewing spots by the incoming tide.
We still have seats for our Keynote Speaker, Bart Rulon...and the dessert
reception features great stuff complements of our festival committee
members, as well as goodies by the now-famous baker Nancy Lachel of the
Hoquiam Public Market.
We also have openings for all of the lectures, and for the Saturday night
banquet and auction.
Finally, the birds are here and the stage is set for another great festival.
We hope you come see this amazing spectacle. It is worth the trip...and so
far the weather forecast looks pretty decent with a 30% chance of showers on
Friday, and a 10% chance of showers on Saturday with possible sun breaks
(!). It's the spring migration, and it is not to be missed.
Thanks for allowing me to "beat the drum" on this venue.
