Good evening all,

We made the trip over the Wenas on Saturday.? The road was a bit more dusty than I would have thought and a little bumpy if you take a car.? On the Ellensburg side we saw several mountain bluebird pairs just as you approach the first birdhouses and then the usual western bluebirds scattered along the road all the way to the campground.? We didn't have too many surprises all along the road - other sightings were kestrels, red-tails, yellow rump warblers, Townsend's solitaire, western meadowlarks?and more flickers than I've ever seen.? I wish I could have seen which colors they all?were.? The flickers were the only woodpecker type bird that we saw.? The gate to the campground was closed.??Also the?road to the campground could use a little help - it's quite rough in a couple of places.

On the way back we saw several brewer's blackbirds along the creek.? It's probably not a big deal but we had never seen them there before.? We also spotted a sage thrasher perched on the brush along the road.

Enjoy your week
