Hi Tweeters,

Today (4/26/11) I got around to a little afternoon birding and found a few
birds of interest. There was a pair of WESTERN BLUEBIRDS at the Toutle River
RV Resort where they nested last summer. As you walk the trail from where
their road deadends toward the Toutle, the bluebirds were hanging out near
the first nest box you come to opposite the exercise rings. This is at the
southwest corner of I-5 Exit #52. If you go be sure to check in at the
office of this birder friendly business for a free parking permit. There was
a COMMON LOON on Coldwater Lake and a male BARROWS GOLDENEYE in Coldwater
Creek where it drains the lake. Also the BONAPARTE'S GULLS continue to be
seen near 1702 Dike Road in the Woodland Bottoms as reported by Randy Hill
last Saturday. They are mixed in with a large flock of other gulls, mostly
MEW GULLS and CASPIAN TERNS.
