Subject: [Tweeters] Black Oystercatchers at March Point

This morning I saw three Black Oystercatchers at two different places around
March Point in Skagit County, a place I'd never seen them before. With the
oystercatchers at Point No Point last weekend (another odd place for them)
it seems that they're moving around a bit now.

Shorebird migration in the area is picking up from what it has been, with 40
or so Least Sandpipers and a few Greater Yellowlegs around the Samish Flats
today, though overall it's been fairly slow still. Back on 4/15 there was a
Whimbrel on 7th Ave NE, west of Arlington, and two Eurasian GW Teal at the
Skagit Game Range. There were still hundreds of Snow Geese on Fir Island on
Monday, but they've been moving around a lot and won't be around much
longer. It seems the last flocks of swans have moved out in the past week.
Pipits have been scattered about throughout the fields.

Good birding,
Ryan Merrill
