Hi Tweeters,

This morning (4/28/11) Jeff Jendro and I got in a little birding on the west
end of Longview. Barlow Point Road had a pulse of migrating sparrows that
were mostly SAVANNAH SPARROWS with a few LINCOLN SPARROWS and at least one
CHIPPING SPARROW. Our two hours at the Mint Farm Mitigation Ponds was very
birdy with our FOY VAUX'S SWIFTS and WILSON'S WARBLER as well as both SORA
and VIRGINIA RAILS calling, but the bird of the day was a male LESSER
GOLDFINCH at the tree line near the radio tower where the gravel road along
the ponds "T's" with the road along the slough. After lunch we found the
BONAPARTE'S GULLS still in the Woodland Bottoms along Dike Road and along
Kuhnis Road there were about 100 LEAST SANDPIPERS.
