Hi Tweets,
I live a couple blocks off the SE corner of Green Lake in North Seattle and have had a stream of migrants passing through starting last Sunday (some before then too). On Sunday we had a good sized group of Yellow-rumped Warblers, 7 at one time in the birdbath and waterfall with others flitting around. All week long I've had groups of Yellow-rumps passing through availing themselves of the water features, yesterday there were YRs in the yard almost all day long. All the Yellow-rumps have been Audubon's race. There have been a number of Golden-crowned and White-crowned sparrows, 3-4 at a time passing through as well (I get one or two occasionally in the winter but nothing like the parade of late). This morning there was a Swainson's Thrush working the spill under the finch feeder. At the same time the Goldfinches that have been here all winter have dwindled to almost zero as the yard starts to close in with the leafing out of the trees.
A beautiful time of year,
Jud Scovill
