We did the unheard of and got up at 4:15am this morning and got to the Lek around 5:15. I counted 27 male grouse calling, displaying and otherwise being unkind to one another (and one female way out on the edge), all of whom stayed around until half flew off at 7:40. The rest moved back from the road and we left around 8a. Amazing photographs! At the visitors center, Yellow-rumped warblers have decended en masse. Probably ten times the number that were there yesterday. I presume some will move north soon.
