Tweeters,

Hello all. For the past few weeks I've been periodically awaken by shrieking Barn Owls at my house on the ridge above the River S Unit of Ridgefield NWR. I have occasionally caught glimpses of them swooping along the ridge in the twilight. However, tonight I spotted one then another dive into the tree outside my window. There was much twittering and shrieking that culminated in the exchange of food and then copulation. They must be nesting nearby and this is certainly the first I've had any contact with the species in Clark County since I've moved here. What a treat!

Cheers,
