I'm on the Arizona/New Mexico list serve and saw a post that I thought
Tweeterdom would appreciate. A guy named Kurt Radamaker created a Web site
that takes eBird sightings and maps them using Bing Maps. The site is still
in the early stages of development but it's very cool. Right now it only
includes the US and Mexico and only shows birds seen in the last 15 days.
He's using an eBird API for 'notable birds' which is ABA Code 2 and above.



The Washington map shows two recent sightings.a Manx Shearwater at Ocean
Shores reported by Brad Waggoner on July 30 and Spotted Owl north of Olympia
reported by Gary Petro on July 29.



I can imagine lots of other uses for this type of technology. It would be
neat to map top Washington birding sites from Opperman or from Tweeters
reports. Or maybe Matt Bartels can create a Washington county bird list map
that shows locations of sightings? Matt? J



I see there is a Yellow-green Vireo at Patagonia-Sonoita Creek Preserve.
Anyone up for a road trip?
