Brad Waggoner and I spent yesterday looking for shorebirds in the
north sound, finding 16 species and a lot of birds in general. No
Baird's Sandpipers, though there have been a few up there recently.
No sign of the Wood Sandpiper yesterday or on Monday.

35 Black-bellied Plover - Sunlight Beach & Skagit WMA
90 Semipalmated Plover - my first juveniles were on Monday, yesterday
there seemed to be a few more adults than juvs
195 Killdeer
5 Spotted Sandpiper - including 4 at Deer Lagoon
1 Solitary Sandpiper - juv cinnamomea at Skagit WMA
55 Greater Yellowlegs - more juvs than adults
85 Lesser Yellowlegs - including 25 at Skagit WMA, I believe all were juvs
1 Marbled Godwit - adult at Crockett Lake
13 Semipalmated Sandpiper - including 5 at Crockett Lake, all juvs
though had one adult on Monday, now that most of the Westerns are
juvs, it's become quite a challenge to identify these
3200 Western Sandpiper - including 1600 at Crockett Lake, vast majority juvs
600 Least Sandpiper - mostly juvs
4 Pectoral Sandpiper - including 3 adults at Skagit WMA
30 Short-billed Dowitcher - including Deer Lagoon, Skagit WMA, all
juvs, first day I've seen them this fall
90 Long-billed Dowitcher - including Deer Lagoon, Skagit WMA, all adults
4 Wilson's Snipe - including 3 at Skagit WMA
6 Red-necked Phalarope - including 3+ at Crockett Lake

There was also a group of 3 MacGillivray's Warblers and a male
Bullock's Oriole in the parking lot at the Skagit Game Range.

On Monday there was a House Wren at Jensen Access on Fir Island. Also
at Jensen Access were 3 Semipalmated Sandpipers and 4 Red-necked
Phalaropes mixed in with about 1600 Western and 500 Least Sandpipers.
