Went to the fill to check for some warblers and shore birds. On the main pond I had nice views of a Western and Least sandpiper, a kildeer overhead,a GB heron, pied billed grebe, a handfull of mallards, a pair of gadwal, common yellow throat (only warbler for the day), song sparrows, and an adult Coopers hawk perched right along the trail. Out on and along the Lake there were a couple barn and tree swallows, marsh wrens, bewicks wrens, robins, crows, female or immature rw blackbirds, bc chickadees, numerous canada geese, mallards, and a single drake wood duck in his non breeding plumage, pied billed grebe with (2) very small chicks some gulls in the distance, and one coot. American goldfinches were everywhere, there are still savannah sparrows around, lots of house finches, and a nice (30-40) flock of vauxs swifts were overhead for more than an hour. Total of 5 hummingbirds for the day, all anna's. Yesler swamp had a merlin fly over at about 9am. Along the trails I had many, many bc chickadees, handful of song sparrows, bewicks wrens, and robins. I belive there was a fox sparrow in there also but it bounced away before I got a second look at it. Stellers jays, vaux swifts, gold and house finches and american crow. Also many bird songs that I am not too familiar with so there are plenty of other birds that didn't get ID'd.

At three forks. Many warblers, black throated gray, yellow, wilsons, orange crowned, yellow rumped, c yellow throat. Hooded merganser, wood duck, canada geese. Robin, crow, starling, willow and a couple not singing flycatchers, rw black birds, western wodd peewee, chipping (feeding bh cowbirds), song and fox sparrow. Tree swallows feeding young in a snag. Couple barn swallows and a lone swift sp. over head. Gold finches and house finches. No swainsons thrushes singing or seen. Also rabbit, black tail deer, garter snake, and muskrat.

Happy Birding,
Dan Lipinski
