Dear WA Tweeters,
In early July, I posted a RFI to this list seeking advice for our upcoming
trip to Seattle and the Olympic peninsula. An amazing number of people
responded (13!), and everyone provided excellent tips about where to go,
what to see, and whether to lug our scope through airports (your collective
answer was yes, and we are sure glad we did!). Even though our time actively
birding and being in nature was limited to four days, we added 13 life birds
to my list and 15 to my spouse's, and we're already excited about coming
back to the area and staying longer next time.
Species seen between 07/20/2011 - 07/27/2011 are listed below. Please
contact me if you would like info re: location and date(s) for any species.
Also, we realize that our inexperience with Northwestern vs. American Crow
(with a Pacific voice) and Glaucous-winged vs. Western vs. Western x
Glaucous-winged Gull may have led us to some incorrect identifications, but
we think/hope? we got it right.
