Dear Tweets

A few months ago I noted an Acorn woodpecker in an evergreen here in
my yard. With the decreased acorn production last year and living
within 3 miles or LESS of a few oak trees I suppose it may have been a
rare occurance. BUT I've watched Stellar Jays drop acorns and fly
with acorns in their beaks through my yard this week. Someone has
been stashing these acorns nearby because I've found the acorns are
brown and old. The oaks here are just beginning to form acorns. A
few oak stands have acorns that are still quite small. I wonder where
the Acorn Woodpeckers and Stellar Jays are hiding them?
