At least one Red-necked Grebe is around Lummi Island now - I've seen it for two days, along the west shore south of Legoe Bay. It's only been about two months since I saw the last northbound straggler - although perhaps one or two simply summer in the area.? A few Surf Scoters seemed to hang around all summer - and I've noticed that Red-necked Grebes and Surf Scoters often seem to enjoy each other's company.
