Subject: [Tweeters] Spotting Scope Advice

It became clear from my experience at the recent
WOS Conference trips that I can no longer put off
investing in a good spotting scope. Everyone was
great about sharing but it is just not the same.
On the various trips I had a chance to use various
Swarovski, Kowa and Nikon scopes but none long
enough to really form strong differential
opinions. Also had a chance to use both angled
and straight eyepiece configurations although the
former seems to be far more common than the
latter. I found it easier to line up the straight
configuration but that may just be from past
familiarity. Soooooooooo...I am seeking
input/advice from Tweeter-land. There seem to be
two levels: expensive and very expensive and also
a variety of lens/eyepieces etc. As this will
obviously be a large investment in any case, your
thoughts here or to my personal e-mail would be
greatly appreciated. And if there are any sources
with some savings from the steep suggested retail
prices, knowing those would be helpful. Thanks to
all...
