Blair,

There are plenty of cheap scopes, some of which are terrible and some
not too bad. I've read good reviews of this little puppy:

It's very subjective whether a pricier scope is worth it for you. I'd
suggest picking a few from this list and visiting Anacortes to
actually compare them, assuming they have them in stock.

If at all possible, go on sunny day and check the ability of the
scopes to reject stray light when looking at a target within a small
angle of the sun (the telephone poles across the street are often
useful). That's can be a huge issue that doesn't necessarily vary
based on price (unlike ED vs. normal glass or eyepiece design).
