While riding the ferry to Kingston on Sunday I saw several groups of a dozen or so Red-necked Phalaropes about 5 minutes offshore of Edmonds, mostly around floating mats of eelgrass, ect. Somehow this species and I have been avoiding each other in my decades of Puget Sound snooping, so it was exciting to see them. Maybe Edmonds shore watchers could see some. Sorry for the delayed report, but I have been traveling in the PIE (Pre Internet Era) visiting my elderly parents who don't have, need, or want a computer. It's always nice to have a few days away from the things really.
