The usual Emberizid species, and for now I "have" to include the HARRIS'S
SPARROW as part of that contingent, was joined by an adult WHITE-THROATED
SPARROW today, making it yet another 9-emberizid day. Unfortunately, I have
to get the lights up today, or I'd be down at the wetlands trying to hook in
the Swamp Sparrow, which I haven't seen for over a week. A 10-sparrow day
may be in the offing (and would be a nice way to end the year).



A "Slate-colored" Junco was also feeding out back. This is likely the same
bird that Charlie, Ryan, and Tracey saw in the wetland area when they were
here on 11-13, and that Bruce Labar and I relocated on 11-26 in the same
area.



Today's Emberizid contingent:

Spotted Towhee

Fox, Song, Lincoln's, White-throated, Harris's, White-crowned, and
Golden-crowned Sparrows

Dark-eyed Junco + Slate-colored
