Monika Wieland is a naturalist, wildlife photographer, and nature writer
who lives in Friday Harbor, Washington. In 2007 she received a degree in
biology from Reed College and published her first book, /Orca
Encounters/. A bird watcher from a young age, she has observed San Juan
Island bird life for the last decade. She blogs at www.orcawatcher.com.
