Subject: [Tweeters] Cooper's or Sharp-Shinned?

As a long-time peregrine observer who also works downtown, I have picked
up dead birds of both accipiter species off the street /sidewalk after
collisions with windows, etc. Only once have I known what caused the
collision: the crows mobbed a Sharpie and caused it to collide with a
glass pane in a door, according to several observers inside the
door.?
Usually folks think the dead birds are peregrines, which
is how I end up investigating.?
I also used to see both Coops
and Sharpies in Freeway Park in the winter, but have not since the parks
department took out a lot of the trees and bushes about a year ago.
There are lots of pigeons and starlings downtown, as well as other
birds, plus some of the people living in condos and apartments have
feeders on their balconies.?

I couldn't get a proper ID on an accipiter I saw perched on a Western Ave

> balcony in downtown Seattle today. Would Cooper's come into the
urban area
