Tweets.

Speaking of raptor collisions, I have to recount a story of about 15 years
ago. A co-worker who lived in Port Orchard was sitting in his recliner,
reading the Sunday paper. The sliding glass door was open and he was
shocked when a sparrow (he assumed) flew into the house, pooping its way in
fear across the living room. It made a quick turnaround and flew back out.
The raptor chasing it was not so lucky, though--it flew into the wall and
fell dead into my friend's lap and the newspaper! He was on a 4-10
schedule, so the next day he was able to take the bird into "a university"
(the Slater Museum, I imagine) where it was i.d.'d as a peregrine. He was
stunned, but could hardly wait to report to work on Tue to tell his story to
me, the unit bird nut!
