Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday December 8. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

A MOUNTAIN PLOVER is now being seen along Llewellyn Road off Hwy 99 south of
Corvallis. On December 4 a RUSTY BLACKBIRD and a COMMON TEAL were along
Lower River Road near Ridgefield NWR. A LEAST FLYCATCHER is now being seen
at S 4th and Beacon St. in Rockaway.

SNOWY OWLS were seen during the week in Albany, south of Wasco, east of
Burns, and at the South Jetty of the Columbia River. REDPOLLS were reported
in SW Portland, in Portland?s Forest Paark, on Marys Peak, and on Bayocean
Peninsula on Tillamook Bay, at Running Y Ranch near Klamath Falls, and at
Malheur NWR Headquarters. Most were among PINE SISKIN flocks.

On December 3 a BARN SWALLOW was at Millicoma Marsh near Coos Bay. Nine
CINNAMON TEAL were seen December 7 at the Scappoose Sewage Ponds. During the
week WESTERN and CLARK?S GREBES, WHITE-WINGED and SURF SCOTERS, COMMON and
BARROW?S GOLDENEYES were on the Columbia River in the Portland area. At
Smith/Bybee Lakes in North Portland were one or two LONG-TAILED DUCKS, a
NORTHERN SHRIKE, two RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS, and on December 1 three BARN
SWALLOWS.

On December 6 a SNOWY EGRET was reported from Westmoreland Park in Portland.
At Fernhill Wetlands during the week were a RED-NECKED GREBE and a COMMON
TEAL. On December 1 a NASHVILLE WARBLER and a RED FOX SPARROW were at the EE
Wilson SWA. A LONG-BILLED CURLEW was near Albany December 5. That day a
MOCKINGBIRD was in Alvadore. On December 1 seven SNOW GEESE were at Fern
Ridge Reservoir. The next day a ROSS?S GOOSE was reported from there. At
Suttle Lake in Santiam Pass December 7 were a SURF SCOTER and a
WHITE-WINGED SCOTER.
