Subject: [Tweeters] How Close Is Too Close? (Snowy Owl)

Hi,
I studied this kind of situation (birds in general, not Snowy Owls) for my
PhD.
It's amazing how high the heart rate becomes before there is any visible
sign of response as a human approaches. And a high heart rate = energy use
and stress reactions.
The good news is that many birds adapt to safe situations very quickly. So
staying on roads and well-used paths where the birds can learn that you're
unlikely to be a threat is sensible.
Cheers
