Subject: [Tweeters] Chasing Stuff with Long Lens

As an occasional long lens bird photographer, I have not yet gone to
see the Snowy Owls. But I did point the long lens at the total lunar
eclipse on Saturday morning, and I had to chase the skittish moon
from point to point much like a careless Snowy Owl photographer going
after his or her prey. Perhaps I scared the moon, but at least I got
the pictures. There was even an owl and heron and seal that happened
by (I had never before been croaked at by a Harbor Seal!). You can
read about the experience on my blog at:

I had a Townsend's Warbler coming to get suet this last weekend at
our Shelton home, and we have had a trio of Mourning Doves hanging
out every day on the deck, where I have feeders. Prior to about three
years ago, I had never seen a Mourning Dove here in the "rain
forest," but now we see them daily.
