Hi Tweets,
Today a couple friends and I went to look for the Snowy Owl at the end of Thomle Road in Stanwood. Shortly after arriving we watched the owl flying over the fields in front of the dike. We lost it for a bit and then found it atop a driftwood stump. There was also a Rough-legged Hawk hunting in the area as well as Northern Harriers, an American Kestrel, Bald Eagles, Red-tailed Hawks and a Short-eared Owl that flew right in front of the Snowy Owl. At one point a huge flock of Snow Geese swirled around the flats behind the owl, which was a beautiful sight. Amazing how an experience as simple as that can make one's day.
