Yo Tweets,
Spent a glorious sunny day in Ocean Shores....Sunburned in December in Washington!!!

Stop #1 at the golf course. Canal Drive near the golf driving range on the west side of the road. Literally the first bird in a flock of geese that I glassed was the Emperor Goose, in with a flock of Cackling Geese.

Stop #2 Brown Pt Jetty for lots of Black Turnstones, Surfbirds and after much work and precarious rock hopping, a Rock Sandpiper.

Stop #3 Damon Pt. Slogged out the beach, then followed the old road remnant to the point and then looped south and found 8 Snowy Owls (6 in view at once). Lots of birders and photographers present and only saw one instance of a bird being flushed by jerks. Most folks kept a respectable distance.

When we returned to the entrance to Damon Pt there was a frenzy of photographers in the RV campground getting great close looks at the Blue Gray Gnatcatcher.

Notable misses were the Queen Eider and Palm Warbler. Nobody we spoke with had seen them today.

Cheers,
Ed Deal
