...............Watched, and listened at sunset?with 5 carloads of observers, zillions of ducks; 2 hawks; and an American Bittern next to the road on the east side of Rest Lake ,to? the "Wild Bird concerto in Bird-major" by hundreds of Tundra Swans; some Sandhill Cranes, and later many gaggles of Canada Geese settling in(seemingly in the hundreds )What an awesome "coming-in-to roost-concert" put on by an awesome orchestra directed by the Grand Maestro from above here at Ridgefield NWR in Sw. Wash. This "music" at sunset was just as mesmerizing as it was at sunset 2 Mondays ago, except there were *more* Sandhill Cranes at that time.to change and?enhance?the tonal quality of the concert. As I left the area at abouit 5:30 pm, more geese and swans were arrivingfrom ?the southwest;south and the north and northwest , settling on the lake---adding even more talented musicians to the orchestra!!!

................Cheers.......Gerald Hamilton
