Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday December 22. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

The MOUNTAIN PLOVER along Llewellyn Road near Tangent and the LEAST
FLYCATCHER at Rockaway continue to be seen. Four PALM WARBLERS, a
CLAY-COLORED SPARROW, and the wintering DICKCISSEL were seen during the week
at Cape Blanco. The Corvallis Bald Hill BLUE JAY continues to be seen.

The SNOWY OWL near Burns and near ALBANY continue to be seen. Another in now
being seen at Fern Ridge Reservoir near Eugene.

On December 17 a MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD was at Cape Blanco. A BURROWING OWL was
at the North Bend Airport December 19. On December 17 a PALM WARBLER was at
the Hatfield Science Center on Yaquina Bay and another was at Toledo. A
RUDDY TURNSTONE was at South Jetty of the Columbia River December December
18. The Astoria MOCKINGBIRD continues to be seen.

A TREE SPARROW and two REDPOLLS were seen December 18 on Bachelor Island in
Ridgefield NWR. That day a LONG-TAILED DUCK was on Sauvie Island. All three
species were in closed areas. The Braughton Beach SNOW BUNTINGS continues to
be seen. On December 14 three SURF SCOTERS, a WHITE-WINGED SCOTER, and a
CLARK?S GREBE were on the Columbia River off Hayden Island in North
Portland. On December 19 a EURASIAN GREEN-WINGED TEAL was at the Koll
Wetlands in Beaverton. A GLAUCOUS GULL was seen December 15 at the mouth of
the Clackamas River in Oregon City. On December 17 a HARRIS?S SPARROW was
seen along Cook Street between Hillsboro and Cornelius.

On December 17 two CLIFF SWALOWS, two VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS, and 15 BARN
SWALLOWS were near the Salem Airport. A SAY?S PHOEBE was seen December 18
along Smithfield Road north of Baskett Slough NWR. An adult GOLDEN EAGLE was
at Finley NWR December 18. A flock of 56 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS south of
Corvallis east of Peoria December 15. The Alvadore MOCKINGBIRD continues to
be seen. On December 20 a male WILSON?S WARBLER were in Eugene. The next day
a female HERMIT WARBLER was in Eugene. On December 16 a PACIFIC LOON was on
Howard Prairie Lake east of Ashland.
