Since there have been multiple topics recently concerning viewing disturbance to birds as well as property and trespass issues thought it might be a good time to rehash our own birding community's ethics as I've not seen them mentioned yet.

The ABA "Code of Birding Ethics" are a great summary of considerations to keep in mind while watching birds and wildlife in general. Many are well familiar with these guidelines. For those not familiar with them they are well worth a quick read and some thought:

We all love our time spent watching birds and other wildlife, the study opportunity and understanding it brings us, the separation and solitude it can bring from our busy lives and metro craziness. Anything we can do to support our activities while keeping the birds and their habitat healthy is nothing but positive action and sets an example to others; providing support for a great hobby that many of us enjoy so much....at times addictively!
