Hi Tweeters,

I was birding along Brady Loop Rd. with Sheila Eckstein this morning when we came across the flock of swans. They were a long way off with no nearby access. While scoping them, I noticed that one of the swans had a much lighter bill than the others. It struck me as being a MUTE SWAN, but with the distance and haze, I can't be certain. If anyone is going out that way, it would be worthwhile carefully examining the flock to confirm this .

We spent the remainder of the day at Ocean Shores doing more hiking than birding. The SNOWY OWLS are still present on Damon Point and the BLACK TURNSTONES, SURFBIRDS, and ROCK SANDPIPERS are still hanging out on the Point Brown Jetty.

I would like to be teleported to Palmer Lake to avoid the drive.

Good birding,

Lonnie Somer
