Good Morning, Bird Watchers! Just wanted to let everyone know there were
a few more "east siders" looking at the Ross's Gull yesterday. I came up
with Jenny G. from E. Wenatchee and Ralph and Betty from Pateros. I'd
been there on Tues., my first visit to that beautiful valley. It was a
first visit for them yesterday. We will have to come back in the spring
too. I also met a young couple from N. Idaho. Great looks at the gull as
well as the Bighorn Sheep. Great people at the little store where you can
sign their book of visitors. They have booths and serve hamburgers and
other sandwiches. Well worth stopping in. We heard one man say the gull
looked like it was limping, and the tertials weren't all groomed. I
thought I also heard someone say there was a little bit of ice near those
tertials. Maybe this will be noticeable in someone's photos. Hope the
bird stays long enough for all of you to see it, and the roads stay
passable too. Merry Christmas everyone. Meredith Spencer, Bridgeport,
Wash.
