YES I WENT TO OCEAN SHORES,(THE ROSS's GULL HAVE TO WAIT)
Patrick and I had the Ross's Gull on December first on the Columbia River
below the MacNary Dam (found by Phil Bartley on NOVEMBER 2 1994. A soso
photo in flight with an Article by Patrick "A brief visitor."was published
in the WOSNEWS

OCEAN SHORES December 23-2011
I took some friends out to Ocean Shores to see the Snowy Owls on Damon
Point.
But instead we was watching the huge waves over flowing the whole front of
Damon Point.There was no way we could even a attempt to walking at all.I run
into the group of Sequim who also watching the water overflowing the whole
beach.But it was a Big surprise to seeing Bob Norton and his wife in the
car.It been so long since Bob came to the Ocean .Bob Norton is one of the
OLD TIMERS WHAT are left in our area,,He still got his old whit ,when
Patrick was still alive we used to birdying quite often
Birds as follow Sewage Ponds
2 Mew Gulls,lot's of Ducks in high numbers Green -winged Teals Northern
Shoveler,A.Wigeon, Many Mallards and Bufflehead. ALSO where 2 Black
Turnstone & a flock of 100 Dunlin flying in
Damon Point among the water and sand where hundreds of Sanderlings enjoying
the tide coming in and out,running all over the place .
On the way to the Golf Course we parted and I was looking for the Emperor
Goose who was easy to find.In the marsh next to the Motel I spooked 3 Wilson
Snipe, there also where Some A.Wigeon.I went back checked the Tide on Damon
Point,it was still coming in .I than looking for the Blue -gray
Gnutcatcher playing my I-POT,but nothing responded.I was already on my car
,when I spotted the little bird,again he was flying around from Bush to Bush
would make it impossible to get a photo,since the camera still was in the
car.I intend driving home,but the weather looked pretty good so I drove true
Brady Loop.And I was not disappointed, 15 Golden C.Sparrows,2 Marsh Hawks, 2
Meadowlark, 2 Ruby C.Kinglet 1 Kestrel, 1 Blue Heron (in a tree)
last bird was the highlight a full Adult Coopers Hawk,by the time I HAD MY
CAMERA OUT OF THE CAR,THE BIRD FLEW
Further as I HAD THE BIRD IN THE CAMERA HE FLEW AGAIN.it's BEEN A LONG TIME
THAT I BEEN SEEING AN ADULT COOPERS,I got one in my yard on and off, but
it's a Juvenile.Even so it was not what I came for it was a good trip with
few good birds and the reward seeing the Coopers Hawk.
