Hi Tweeters,

Yesterday afternoon, we grabbed a walk in the Arboretum/Foster
Island......just when the sky unexpectedly cleared. Besides the
usual Green-winged Teals, Buffleheads, Northern Shovelers, Mallards
and Gadwalls, we saw a male Northern Pintail. Such beauty!

Also, near the beginning of the waterfront trail, we caught 3
excellent sightings of a Cooper's Hawk (I''m not an expert on these,
but my best understanding made it a Cooper's not Sharp-shinned.)
What a treat for an afternoon expected to be rainy! We enjoyed
sharing our Cooper's find and binoculars with passers-by who were
curious.

Happy Holidays and New Years Greetings,
Elizabeth Edgerton
