It was seen this afternoon about 3:15-3:45 by the deer carcass on the
pull out about half way up the lake shore. When I arrived I was greeted
by the the dreaded words, "oh it was just seen a few minutes ago, but it
just flew off". But I hung out with Igor and his large video camera ( I
hope he releases his images at some time ) and the gull came back to
visit, and 2 more birders came by and we were all rewarded with great
views of this amazing bird. Best Christmas gift ever.
