Subject: [Tweeters] Snow Geese on the move?

I had a V formation of 12 *Snow Geese* heading south over Twin Lakes at
1215 pm today. Has anybody else seen any movement today? It could be an
indication of a cold front approaching.
Also saw an interesting sapsucker in the neighborhood today. It appeared to
be a first year bird with throat and top of head just turning red,
undersides fairly dark or dirty yellowish. It struck me more like a *
Yellow-bellied* than a *Red-naped Sapsucke*r, either would be a good bird
here in Western Washington. It was using sap wells previously drilled
by a *Red-breasted
Sapsucker*, which I have not seen most of the year. It likely fell victim
to the local Cooper's Hawk.

Happy New Birding Year to All!
