Hello All,

This morning MerryLynn and I along with our friend Ron Toretta participated in the Tri-Cities CBC by covering the Sacajawea SP, Franklin Co. section. It was windy and spitting rain as we pulled into Sacajawea State Park. Soon the rain had quit and the lead gray sky ripped open and blue appeared. The wind did not subside though. Birds of note in our section were as follows.....

American White Pelican.........4 birds
Glaucous Gull...........................1 second winter bird
Harris' Sparrow........................1 sub-adult, 110' nw of the wood chip/ branch debre dump in the park
Merlin........................................1 adult near the burned out restrooms
Eared Grebe............................8 basic plumaged birds at the Port of Pasco Osprey Point Park
Varied Thrush...........................1 ad. in the State Park

That is it for now. We located 54 species in our section. The rest were expectedin this area.
Happy New Year to all of you birders out there.
Later Mike Denny
