Subject: [Tweeters] Rock Sandpiper or Emperor Goose at Ocean Shores

The emperor goose was on the golf course with Canada geese yesterday, and in
a field just off the golf course this morning.

The weather in Ocean Shores for the last 2 days has been wet and windy, with
heavy spray, and I made no attempt to scramble over the jetty looking for
rockbirds. Maybe someone else was braver than I...

I did take a quick look around for the gnatcatcher/palm warbler combo
yesterday afternoon too, but finding any passerines in the conditions has
been extremely tough going. I wouldn't assume my failure to find them means
they're no longer there, they might well just be in hiding. Fortunately the
snowy owls are better adapted to the weather, and I had 7 in view at one
time on Damon Point.

recently?

I'm hoping to finally be able to get out to Ocean Shores to see the Snowy
Owls on Monday. I'm wondering if people have still been seeing Rock
Sandpipers there? I also haven't seen mention of the Emperor Goose on the
golf course - is it still around too?

thanks!
