Hello Tweeters,
I did the Seattle CBC today at Discovery Park, my 30th consecutive CBC. Great weather and some good birds. Our teams had Barn, N Saw-whet and GH Owls to start the day. There was a Northern Shrike at the South Meadow. The highlight of the day was literally the last species of the day for our group. We found a flock of about 50 Pine Siskins and as we looked through them, we found 5 COMMON REDPOLLS. They were in an area that is about half ways between the visitor center and the south parking lot. I am sure that like any siskin flock, they are moving around. The lighting was good and we got great looks at the Redpolls. The Pine Siskins have been are to find this year and this flock gave us a nice surprise.
