Subject: [Tweeters] Snowy Owls at Big Ditch

Today (Saturday) we went looking for snowy owls just south of Stanwood
along Thomle road. We arrived around 9:00am. We didn't see any snowies,
but we had good views of a Short-eared owl flying about near the end of the
road.

Around 10:00, we tried the Big Ditch just northwest of Stanwood. As soon
as we got up on the dike trail from the parking lot, we spotted a snowy owl
to the north on a driftwood tree stump out near the water. We set up the
scope and got good views. Then we noticed another snowy even closer on
another stump. Both owls were juveniles. Both were still present when we
left around 11:00.
